4 Kensington Ave.
We interviewed the shopkeeper Sheri. Sheri said that she lived in the market for over a decade. Sheri started out as a fashion designer.
She recounted some stories of her first apartment here in the 70s.
She mentioned that this was the place where people could go to 'try something' to try and 'make it'. It was a vibrant place, a creative place, full of creative people. She loved that about the market, where anything goes.
In recent years she's seen how the market has changed with rent becoming increasingly inaffordable in the neighbourhood compounded by the uncertainty of the pandemic, she's worried about how the future will pan out for businesses and residents in Kensington.
